Public Interest Sites (PIS) for Helicopter Emergency Services |
The
EASA have defined regulations for helicopter landing sites at
establishments of public interest (hospitals), excluding those
registered as flight operation areas in accordance with LuftVG §6. Our office has the capacity to survey and assess your current landing area and document the findings. We can determine an optimal location should an alternative site be required. |

The
air transport company must notify the LBA, Luftfahrtbundesamt, about
the usability of the helipad so that these can be regisitered in a list
of landing places.
The operator is requested to comply with these essential procedures. The legal preconditions for flight operations at these landing sites are specified in LuftVO §6,§25 and LuftVO §18. |
Therefore these helicopter landing areas should fulfill certain minimum
criteria, for example, fixed dimensions and obstacle clearance. In the case of night flights, essential lighting is required. When the flight operation area is active, the area must be secured and necessary safety equipment be provided. We can also supply a construction plan with specifications, ready for tender. |
